Ethos and Approach

Our approach to learning follows Froebel’s child-centred philosophy: free self-directed activity, creativity, social participation and motor expression. Children develop individually, gently guided towards group activities in a happy, warm and caring environment.

To meet the needs of each child and to provide a comprehensive curriculum, we offer a wide range of stimulating and challenging activities designed to develop the child’s natural curiosity and creativity.

The daily structure and routine ensures that the children know what to expect and this helps to foster their sense of security. We prepare the children for each new stage by talking about what is going to happen and giving them the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their thoughts. Talking with the children is one of the most important things we do. Children are encouraged to respect and value the thoughts and feelings of others.
